\nWhat was surprising or new to you when you arrived here?<\/strong>
\n<\/em>Dass so viele Menschen rauchen. Es gibt mehr Bereiche und R\u00e4ume f\u00fcr Raucher als in Schweden, zum Beispiel in Kneipen oder in der Kantine.
\nThat so many people smoke. There are more areas or rooms for smokers than in Sweden, for example in pubs\u00a0and in the canteen.

\nWhat do you enjoy here?<\/strong>
\n<\/em>Das Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck am Samstagmorgen im Caf\u00e9. Die Fr\u00fchst\u00fccktradition in Deutschland ist sehr gem\u00fctlich.
\nThe breakfast on Saturday mornings in the caf\u00e9. The\u00a0German breakfast tradition\u00a0is very pleasant.<\/em><\/p>\n

3. Was vermisst du am meisten?<\/strong>
\n What do you miss most?<\/strong>
\n<\/em>Mein Freund, meine Freunde und meine Familie in Schweden.
\nMy boyfriend, my friends and my family in Sweden.<\/em><\/p>\n

4. Was ist dein Lieblingsort?<\/strong>
\n What’s your favourite place here?<\/strong>
\n<\/em>Mein Lieblingsorte sind\u00a0Hamburg und Berlin. Ich war dieses Jahr schon zwei Mal in Hamburg. Am liebsten mag ich dort den Hafen. In Schweden kann man\u00a0nicht so gut am Hafen spazieren gehen, denn dort gibt es nur Industrie.\u00a0In Berlin mag ich besonders die Caf\u00e9s in den alten Fabriken in Kreuzberg\u00a0und dass die Stadt so viel Natur hat. Im Sommer bin ich auf einem See Kanu gefahren, das war toll.\u00a0Au\u00dferdem habe ich\u00a0es sehr genossen, im\u00a0Biergarten zu sitzen.
\nMy favourite places are Hamburg and Berlin. This year\u00a0I have already been twice in Hamburg. I love the Harbour there. In Sweden you can’t go for a walk at the harbour very well because there is only industry. In Berlin I like the caf\u00e9s in the old factories in Kreuzberg (part of town)\u00a0and that the town has so much nature spots. In summer I went by canoe, this was great. I also enjoyed to sit in the beer garden.<\/em><\/p>\n

5. Was\u00a0h\u00e4ttest du am Anfang anders machen sollen? Hast du Tipps f\u00fcr Expats, die neu\u00a0nach Deutschland kommen?<\/strong>
\n What should you have done differently in the beginning? Do you have hints for expats\u00a0who\u00a0just arrived in Germany?<\/strong>
\n<\/em><\/em>Ich w\u00fcrde mehr Zeit mit meinen deutschen Freunden verbringen und\u00a0mehr Orte besuchen und reisen.
\nI would have spent more time with my German friends and would have visited more places and travelled more.<\/em><\/p>\n

6. Was ist dein hei\u00dfester Tipp zum Deutschlernen? Was hat f\u00fcr dich am besten funktioniert?<\/strong>
\nWhat is your top hint to learn German? What worked best for you?<\/em><\/em><\/strong>
\n<\/em><\/em>Immer\u00a0viel Deutsch sprechen! Ich habe bei der Arbeit nicht so viel gesprochen, weil die Arbeitssprache Englisch ist. Aber ich\u00a0hatte\u00a0mit meinen Kollegen jede Woche\u00a0ein Mittagessen, wo wir Deutsch gesprochen haben. Das war wirklich gut!
\nAlways to speak a lot of German!\u00a0At work I\u00a0didn’t speak much German because the work language is English. But I had a weekly\u00a0lunch with my collegues where we spoke German. That was really good!<\/em><\/p>\n

7.\u00a0Was ist dein Lieblingswort auf Deutsch?<\/strong>
\n<\/em>Which is you favourite word in German?<\/strong>
\n<\/em>Gem\u00fcse \u2013 mein Freund und\u00a0ich\u00a0haben \u00fcber das Wort viel gelacht, weil\u00a0es sich wie das schwedische Wort \u201eMysa\u201c, also “Kuscheln”\u00a0anh\u00f6rt,\u00a0und \u201eGemysa\u201c (=Gem\u00fcse) ist\u00a0die Vergangenheit.
\nGem\u00fcse (vegetables) – my boyfriend and I laughed a lot about this word because it sounds like the Swedish word “Mysa” which means “cuddle” and “Gemysa” is the past.<\/em><\/p>\n
